Man believed to be high when he beheaded mum, say cops

PETALING JAYA:
The man who beheaded his mother in Kampung Baru Pasir Penambang, Kuala Selangor, is said to have been high on drugs when he committed the gruesome act.

The suspect, who was nabbed on Saturday evening, is being investigated for murder.

Selangor police chief Arjunaidi Mohamed said the suspect had been remanded until Jan 22, Berita Harian reported.

“We believe that during the incident, the suspect wanted to ask for money from his mother (to buy drugs),” he was quoted as saying by the Malay daily.

Arjunaidi said the suspect also had a previous record for criminal intimidation.

It was earlier reported that the suspect, who is unemployed, lives with his parents, while his other siblings stay nearby.
