Health ministry reports 12 new Covid-19 deaths

This brings the total number of fatalities to 31,762.

PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry reported 12 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, according to its GitHub database.

Of the total, two were classified as brought-in-dead (BID). The death toll now stands at 31,762.

Most of the fatalities were recorded in Selangor with four deaths, followed by Penang (2), Pahang (2), Terengganu (2), Johor (1) and Kedah (1).

There were no deaths reported in Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Perlis, Sabah, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.

As of midnight, there were 40,558 active cases including 204 in intensive care units (ICU), 95 of whom require respiratory assistance.

There were also 3,052 recoveries reported.

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 2,802,263.
