
Sharif Hardi Roman Sh Miasin pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him before sessions court judge Azreena Aziz over Zoom today.
The 34-year-old was accused of performing oral sex on the boy in the VVIP washroom at the National Registration Department building here at 4.40pm on Jan 4.
The accused faces a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping on conviction under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
Azreena fixed the case management for Feb 17. The court also allowed bail of RM10,000 in two local sureties.
Sharif, who was unrepresented, will be placed under remand should he fail to settle the amount.
The accused was ordered to report to the nearest police station twice a month and to not disturb the witnesses. He is also required to surrender his passport until the disposal of the case.
Deputy public prosecutor Siti Hajar Mazlan appeared for the prosecution.
