Cops probing event Najib attended for SOP breach

PETALING JAYA:
The police have opened an investigation into an event attended by former prime minister Najib Razak over claims that there was a breach of Covid-19 SOPs.

In a statement today, Dang Wangi district police chief Noor Dellhan Yahaya said his men were investigating the event after an image was shared on Twitter by user @Knowledge9701, showing attendees without face masks.

“The Dang Wangi district criminal investigation division has opened an investigation into an event held at Jalan Tun Ismail, Chow Kit in KL, where some individuals did not wear face coverings.”

He said that the investigation is being conducted under Section 21A of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).

He then urged the public to comply with SOPs.

The event, titled “Bossku Our National Pride”, was organised by the Malaysia Makkal Sakti political party.
