The party’s information chief Awang Ahmad Sah Awang Sahari said they had not held any talks with other parties to form a new government in the state.
“Because of the many claims made by bloggers and political analysts, I have to emphasise that Warisan has not consulted or discussed this with any political party, including Umno,” he said, according to Berita Harian.
The Petagas assemblyman stressed that Warisan would continue to focus on its struggle for the people of Sabah and Malaysia as a member of the opposition. He said the party wants to put government functions back on the right track, comply with the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and eliminate corruption.
“Warisan is committed to this fight and will work hard so that the people understand and support our efforts,” he said.
In the Sabah state elections last year, Warisan Plus, comprising DAP, PKR and Upko, won 32 seats.
Warisan had 23 seats, followed by DAP (6), PKR (2) and Upko (1).
However, the bloc led by former Umno man Shafie Apdal now only has 19 assemblymen supporting it, after three of them defected while Warisan’s Bugaya assemblyman, Manis Muka Mohd Darah, died late last year.
