22 infected in merchant ship cluster in Sabah

Those infected in the Bahtera Kinabalu cluster are being given proper treatment.

After a crew member of the ship had tested positive, 21 of his shipmates were also found to be infected.
KOTA KINABALU:
A merchant ship has been found to be the source of a new Covid-19 workplace cluster in the state capital.

Sabah local government and housing minister Masidi Manjun said the Bahtera Kinabalu cluster was triggered by one of the crew members onboard the MV Orbit Petra.

He said subsequent screenings among his shipmates found 21 others had been infected.

“The crew members are being given proper treatment,” he said in his Covid-19 report  today.

Meanwhile, Masidi said Sabah had recorded 127 new cases over the last 24 hours, which is 41 fewer than that reported yesterday.
