Looters raid convenience stores in flood-hit Taman Sri Muda

However, Shah Alam police say the situation in the neighbourhood is under control.

Several convenience stores in flood-hit Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam, have reportedly been looted.

Police confirmed the incidents of looting at the neighbourhood, which is one of the worst-hit by flood waters over the weekend.

Shah Alam district police chief Baharudin Mat Taib gave an assurance that the situation in Taman Sri Muda was under control.

“These incidents were believed to have happened today around 1pm to 2pm. Among the stores that were looted were Mydin, KK Mart, 7 Eleven and Pasaraya Jimat,” said Baharudin.

He also confirmed that personnel from the district police headquarters and the General Operations Force had been sent to the locations to ensure that the situation remained under control, as well as to prevent more lootings.
