Sarawak police commissioner Aidi Ismail said four were issued to PKR, three to Gabungan Parti Sarawak, and one to Progressive Democratic Party. Also fined were an independent candidate and two members of the public.
“Police also received a total of 185 reports and 71 investigation papers have been opened between Nov 30 and yesterday.
“However, so far, no individual has been called up to give a statement,” Aidi told a media conference at the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters on the eve of polling day tomorrow.
He said the investigation papers opened involved mischief and property damage under Section 427 of the Penal Code, using social media to disseminate fake news under Section 233(1) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and defamation under Section 500 of the Penal Code.
According to Aidi, a total of 7,434 officers and personnel would be deployed at 1,866 voting centres statewide tomorrow, with 3,142 Rela personnel assisting the police.
