PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad will remain at the National Heart Institute (IJN) for a few more days, after he was admitted yesterday.
In a statement, the hospital said Mahathir was “undergoing several investigations” which will be completed in the next few days.
“Due to the present SOPs, no visitors are allowed to see him,” it added.
The update comes after the hospital announced yesterday that the Langkawi MP had been admitted to undergo a full medical check-up.
The 96-year-old suffered a mild heart attack in 2006, and has had bypass surgeries in 1989 and 2007.
He was also treated at IJN for a chest infection in 2018.
