
He cited the uncooperative nature of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government when it was in power for his reluctance to respond now.
In a statement, Lim had earlier asked whether Vigneswaran and three other government-appointed special envoys had submitted their 100-day report cards, as ministries had been required to do.
In response, the MIC president said that when Lim was a member of the government, questions from the opposition were often left unanswered.
“When they were in the government, we asked questions but he didn’t answer. So, I don’t want to answer his questions now. No comment,” he told FMT when contacted.
Regarding the report card, he said Lim should ask the Prime Minister’s Department directly if he wanted answers.
Earlier, Lim said that as special envoys, they were given ministerial status and were paid with public funds, so the people had a right to know their performance under the prime minister.
“Can the four special ambassadors — Abdul Hadi Awang, Tiong King Sing, Richard Riot and SA Vigneswaran — issue their 100-day report cards?
“If not, what are they good for?”
Hadi is the special envoy to the Middle East, Tiong to China and Riot to East Asia.
