Man dies after stabbing himself in the thigh

PETALING JAYA:
A 49-year-old who had been drinking with his colleagues after finishing work, suddenly grabbed a knife and stabbed himself in the thigh numerous times in Kepong, police said.

He was found dead this morning.

According to a statement from Sentul police, they received a call at 3.57am to report an injured and unconscious man at Kelab Bistro, along Jalan Metro Perdana Barat 2.

Police rushed to the scene to find the shirtless man on the floor covered in blood.

“He died at the scene and there were several stab wounds on his right thigh,” said Sentul police chief Beh Eng Lai.

According to initial investigations, police found that the deceased and two colleagues began drinking alcohol after the premises closed at midnight.

At around 3.04am, security footage showed the man grabbing a knife and stabbing himself in the thigh until he collapsed.

Police have classified the incident as “sudden death” and no criminal elements were found.
