In a livestreamed press conference joined by Perikatan Nasional information chief Azmin Ali, former PKR man Ali said he hoped his sacrifice as the Krian incumbent would be repaid in kind by GPS.
“Just as we sacrificed in making way for GPS in Krian, for GE15 we also ask that GPS make way for Bersatu in Saratok,” he said.
Ali added that seat negotiations were being held between the top leadership of Bersatu and GPS, although he was not privy to the details.
Ali said he would be campaigning for GPS’ candidate Friday Belik until polling day, particularly focusing on explaining the issue to longhouse communities.
He also called on supporters from both sides to stop making statements that could affect one another since the matter has been resolved.
“I’m confident that, with my support, the GPS candidate will be able to win the Krian seat. A GPS win is a win for me too.”
