State Covid-19 spokesman Masidi Manjun said the Debut Timbua cluster was triggered by a male teacher, who tested positive after using a self-test kit.
“Further screenings among his close contacts found 31 others infected,” he told FMT.
Masidi said the patients had been separated and were undergoing treatment.
The localities involved in the cluster included the SMK Timbua hostel, the SMK Timbua quarters and the SMK Agama Mohamad Ali quarters, he said.
Yesterday, authorities detected the Jalan Tuaran Bakut cluster, involving a teachers’ college, where 27 students were infected.
Masidi also said the state recorded 329 new cases in the last 24 hours, seven more compared to yesterday.
