It will be based on the book titled “Billion Dollar Whale: The Man Who Fooled Wall Street, Hollywood, and the World” by journalists Tom Wright and Bradley Hope.
The series will also be co-produced by SK Global, which previously financed “Crazy Rich Asians”.
Michelle Yeoh, who had starred in “Crazy Rich Asians”, is also set to produce the miniseries.
“It’s hard to overstate the cultural impact of this story in Asia and around the world.
“It’s both a tale of financial greed and deceit, and a darkly comedic social satire,” SK Global co-CEOs John Penotti and Charlie Corwin were quoted as saying by the portal.
Willimon and fellow executive producer Jordan Tappis said they were thrilled “to be able to bring this incredible story to life for a global audience”.
