Fifth former seriously hurt after falling off school building

Police say the 17-year-old girl had just sat for an examination.

The student fell off a 40m-high school building corridor in Kulai, Johor.

A fifth former at a school in Kulai suffered broken arms and severe injuries on the head and face after she fell off the fourth floor of the school building on Tuesday.

Kulai district police chief Tok Beng Yeow said the incident was believed to have occurred at about 1.25pm after the student and her classmates sat for an examination.

He said the police were informed of the incident by a teacher at the school.

“After sitting for the exam, the student is said to have gone to a building for Form Four students and fell off the corridor, which is believed to be 40m high,” he said in a statement today.

She was taken to the Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital in Kulai but was later transferred to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here.
