MELAKA:
Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) chief minister candidate, Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, has unveiled her manifesto featuring four core areas for the state election.

Mas Ermieyati, who was named PN’s pick earlier today, said the focus would be strengthening the economy, care, education and social issues.

“This is my pledge for the people of Tanjung Bidara, my main focus points, God willing, if I am given the mandate by the people.

“Whatever it is, we will find the solutions together to any problems,” she said in a post on her Facebook page today.

Mas Ermieyati pledged to improve the Prihatin initiative for students who required assistance for laptops or tablets so that home-based learning and teaching can be carried out more efficiently.

“Prihatin educational aid, especially assistance for children from B40 families in Tanjung Bidara who succeed in furthering their studies, will also be expanded.

“My focus will also be to assist children and the unemployed to join technical and vocational education training (TVET) courses and to expand the Prihatin Rakyat tuition centre initiative to SPM, STPM and STAM students in Tanjung Bidara,” she said.

On the economy, the deputy law minister plans to breathe new life into tourism in Tanjung Bidara and Masjid Tanah, apart from using it as the catalyst for economic growth to create new economic and wealth resources.

“Not forgetting assistance to fishermen registered under the Tanjung Bidara legislative assembly and invigorating the gig economic sector, including e-hailing services, that were badly affected by the pandemic.”

She said attention would also be given to infrastructure as well as the construction, upgrading and maintenance of facilities to widen access to internet connectivity around Tanjung Bidara to meet the people’s needs in terms of education and economy.

“For fishermen, facilities from Pantai Tanjung Bidara to Pantai Pengkalan Balak will be provided and upgraded, while improvements will be made to ensure better access to beaches in Tanjung Bidara by adding more parking facilities in tourism-centred areas,” she said.

E-sports hubs in Tanjung Bidara and Masjid Tanah to produce world-class players were also part of the pledge.

Mas Ermieyati faces a three-cornered fight against Barisan Nasional’s Ab Rauf Yusoh and Pakatan Harapan’s Zainal Hassan.
