In a Facebook post, Lim, who is the Alor Gajah PKR chief, said a reformist activist’s loyalty would lie with a party’s struggles and not with an individual.

She said although Azmin used to be the PKR deputy president, it was sad that a person who had supposedly fought against corruption and for the different races for more than 20 years had given in to a party that “embodies racism and corruption”.

She said Perikatan Nasional (PN) was running out of issues and was diverting attention from the problems affecting the people.

“It is better for Azmin to realise that his party, Bersatu, is no longer relevant to the future of our country.

“He should return to the right path rather than continue to be a tool for corruptors.”

It was reported that during a visit to Machap Jaya amid the Melaka polls, Azmin had expressed sadness at PKR’s decision to drop Lim and urged her to continue fighting.

“I am sad that she was dropped from the state election. I was made to understand that she was a victim in PKR because she was seen to be aligned with me,” he said.

Azmin was the deputy PKR president before he switched to Bersatu.

In her post, Lim stressed that she had been against the Sheraton Move as “it was an act of colluding with kleptocratic and corrupt powers that had already been rejected in the general election”.

“Although I am not contesting in the Melaka state election, I am committed to the Pakatan Harapan agenda and will devote my energy and ideas for the country under the leadership of PKR chief Anwar Ibrahim,” she added.

Lim urged all Melaka voters to take a firm stand for the sake of the country’s development and harmony.
