KUALA LUMPUR:
Energy and natural resources minister Takiyuddin Hassan has tested positive for Covid-19.

Takiyuddin, who was supposed to reply on the conservation of Malayan tigers in the country, was absent during question time in the Dewan Rakyat this morning.

Law minister Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said he was replying on Takiyuddin’s behalf after he tested positive.

Contacted by FMT, an aide for the Kota Bharu MP said she was unable to provide details.

Previously, Takiyuddin had been under home quarantine in September after coming into close contact with a Covid-19 patient.

He had undergone two RT-PCR tests on Sept 10 and 13 and tested negative.

Meanwhile, the booster shots are available for MPs at the Parliament clinic from today.
