
PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has detected seven new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.
In a statement, he said four involved the education sector, two were linked to the workplace and one involved a high-risk group.
The clusters were detected in Johor, Kelantan, Penang, Pahang, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
Selangor
- Industri Batu 4 Jalan Kebun: a workplace cluster linked to factory workers in Shah Alam. It involves Klang and Kuala Langat. 927 screened, 70 positive.
Pahang
- Sawit Mengkarak: a workplace cluster linked to estate workers. It involves Bera. The index case was detected on Nov 7. 71 screened, 51 positive.
Penang
- Jalan Gajah Mati, Machang Bubok: a high-risk group cluster linked to staff and residents of a care centre. It involves Seberang Perai Tengah. The index case was detected on Nov 6. 20 screened, 19 positive.
Kelantan
- Jalan Tanjong Mas: an education cluster linked to staff at a learning centre in Panji. It involves Kota Bharu. The index case was detected on Nov 5. 33 screened, 25 positive.
- Pulai Chondong 2: an education cluster linked to students at a learning centre in Kampung Pauh Lima. It involves Machang. 69 screened, 7 positive.
Johor
- Jalan Kempas Lapan: an education cluster linked to staff and students at a learning centre in Bandar Putra. It involves Kulai. The index case, involving a 4-year-old, was detected on Nov 4. 58 screened, 7 positive.
Kuala Lumpur
- Kandi Sungai Besi 2: an education cluster linked to students at a higher learning institution in Sungai Besi. It involves Cheras. The index case was detected on Nov 4. 30 screened, 18 positive.
