Ex-PKR MP replaces Bersatu man as palm oil council chief

Larry Sng was appointed MPOC chairman, taking over from Osman Sapian.
PETALING JAYA:
Julau MP Larry Sng, who quit PKR in February this year, has been appointed chairman of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council.

The council announced the appointment in a Facebook post tonight, congratulating the former Sarawak PKR leader on his appointment.

According to the post, Sng’s appointment began on Oct 1.

Sng replaces former Johor menteri besar Osman Sapian, who was appointed MPOC chairman in May last year following the change of government at the federal level.

It is not known why Osman was replaced. However, he had been admitted to hospital earlier this month after reportedly suffering a stroke.

Sng left PKR in late February and decided to switch his support to the Perikatan Nasional government led by Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, who was prime minister.
