
Of the total, 17 were classified as brought-in-dead. The death toll now stands at 28,312.
Most of the fatalities were recorded in Sarawak with 17 deaths, followed by Perak (11), Selangor (11), Penang (10), Johor (9), Sabah (7), Kedah (6), Negeri Sembilan (3), Kelantan (2), Terengganu (1) and Perlis (1).
There were no deaths reported in Melaka, Pahang, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.
As of 12am today, there were 80,697 active cases including 653 in intensive care units (ICU), 322 of whom require respiratory assistance.
There were also 7,630 recoveries reported, bringing the total number of those discharged to 2,311,213.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia now stands at 2,420,222.
