Chief minister Hajiji Noor said the state government has also decided to lift the inter-district travel ban beginning tomorrow.
The state is currently implementing the zonal system for inter-district travel which only allows people to cross to other districts within the same zone.
Hajiji said the Sabah government was satisfied with the vaccination rate for the adult population, which was now at over 70%.
“The entry to Sabah will cover social visits as well as for tourism purposes but with a number of conditions,” he said in a statement today.
Hajiji said those intending to come to Sabah must be fully vaccinated and take a RT-PCR or RTK-Ag test three days before travelling.
Individuals aged between 12 and 18 planning to enter Sabah must also have received at least one shot of the vaccine while children aged below 12 must be accompanied by parents who have completed their vaccination.
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob had previously announced that state borders nationwide would open simultaneously on Oct 11 as the vaccination rate of the adult population had exceeded 90%.
As for inter-district travel, Hajiji said those allowed to cross districts must also be fully vaccinated.
The same rules as interstate travel apply for teenagers aged between 12 and 18 as well as children under 12.
