KUALA LUMPUR:
The Covid-19 immunisation task force (CITF) will be dissolved on Oct 31, science, technology and innovation minister Dr Adham Baba said.

Adham, who is also joint CITF chairman, said that from Nov 1, the national Covid-19 immunisation programme (PICK) would be fully implemented by the health ministry (MoH).

“PICK is at a good level and as the prime minister announced, the responsibility will now be returned to MoH.

“I am confident that MoH is prepared, especially as it is now vaccinating teenagers,” he said when attending the closing ceremony of the Bukit Jalil National Stadium vaccination centre (PPV) here, today.

He said the non-MoH PPVs which were managed by CITF were being shut down in stages nationwide and no non-MoH PPVs are expected to be operational after Oct 31.

Adham went on to say that his ministry had been discussing with CITF and MoH on handing over the task to ensure a smooth transition.

CITF was established by the Cabinet in February this year to oversee the implementation of the immunisation programme.

Meanwhile, he said 60% of adults in states nationwide were fully vaccinated.

The country aims to hit 100% of fully vaccinated adults by the end of the month.
