This comes after Sabah health authorities had earlier denied allegations made by a woman in a viral video that a teenager died after having received the Covid-19 vaccine in the east coast Lahad Datu district.
State health director Dr Rose Nani Mudin said the actions of the individual (in the video) created panic and concern among the people, particularly parents and teenagers planning to receive the vaccine.
Noor Azmi said the health ministry will obtain detailed facts for each issue raised in the video adding that they are taking the matter seriously and will respond soon.
“All parties are asked to remain calm and not to raise any concern while the health ministry examines the matter.
“Cooperation from all parties is needed,” he tweeted.
The vaccination of children aged 12 to 17 in Sabah started on Sept 16. As of yesterday, more than half of all children in that age group had received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
