PETALING JAYA:
The education ministry has announced that educational institutions in Johor will reopen on Oct 10, two weeks after it moves into Phase 2 of the national recovery plan (NRP).

In a statement, the ministry said those in Pahang will open on Oct 4.

As the state will move to Phase 3 on Sept 24, they will operate under these rules from Oct 11.

Educational institutions in Negeri Sembilan will reopen on Oct 4 and transition to Phase 4 regulations on Oct 18.

Following the announcement of Langkawi as a travel bubble, the ministry said the operations of educational institutions there, starting from Oct 3, will be based on Phase 4 regulations.

It also said the National Security Council (MKN) had given approval for Form 6 students in their second semesters and students in international examination classes (IGCSE and O-Level) in Phase 1 states to attend school without their classes being split under a rotation system.

“Therefore, the operation of educational institutions in Kedah will begin on Oct 10 for these groups of students.

“Other students will continue with home-based teaching and learning (PdPR),” it said.

The ministry said educational institutions in other states not involved in the phase transition on Sept 24 will maintain their operations based on their existing phases.
