4 anti-drug officers fined RM39,000 for making false claims

The officers used falsified receipts to claim more than RM11,000 in travel allowances.

KOTA KINABALU:
Four National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) officers were separately fined by the special corruption court here today on multiple counts of making false claims.

Mohd Hanip Juarip, Panduan Paglin, Razilah Saad and Erwan Roslan pleaded guilty before judge Abu Bakar Manat to a combined 26 charges of using falsified receipts to claim for travel allowances for a series of stays at hotels here in 2017.

Altogether, they used the fake receipts to claim a total of RM11,863.

Abu Bakar fined the four RM1,500 for each count, or in default three months’ jail.

The AADK officers all paid their fines, which came up to a total of RM39,000.

Hanip, Panduan and Erwan were fined a total RM9,000 each while Razilah had to pay the biggest fine of RM12,000.

They were charged under Section 471 of the Penal Code, which is punishable under Section 465 of the same Act.
