In a written answer to the Dewan Rakyat, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said a total of RM1,073,580 was spent on renovations and furniture.

Ismail was replying to a question by Hannah Yeoh (PH-Segambut) about details of ministers and deputy ministers who carried out renovations to their offices during 2020 or 2021, including purchases of new furniture.

She also asked for the costs and companies involved.

In response, Ismail said that RM380,000 was spent on renovating the office of the de facto law minister, with a further RM90,000 spent on new furniture. Both were carried out by Puncak Interaktif Sdn Bhd.

Meanwhile, RM192,870 was spent on renovating the office of the deputy de facto law minister, with an additional RM10,000 used to purchase new furniture. Kerayong Indah Enterprise was listed as the contractor.

A total of RM145,977 was spent on renovating the offices of the minister and deputy minister at the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs). Furniture costs totalled RM254,733, with the contracts going to Sega Elektrik Sdn Bhd.

Ismail said that the renovations and the replacement of old furniture were carried out according to the guidelines and regulations for building planning by the standards and costs committee under the Economic Planning Unit, which is an agency under the Prime Minister’s Department.
