Selangor police chief Arjunaidi Mohamed said the compounds were issued for various offences like failing to wear a mask, disregarding social distancing, and others.
He said about 3,000 personnel from 700 monitoring teams have been assigned to ensure that the public adhere to the SOPs since the Klang Valley transitioned to Phase 2 of the recovery plan.
Under Phase 2, inter-district travelling is allowed, and many took advantage of this to enjoy various recreational activities, Arjunaidi said.
“We are monitoring the beaches and tourist attractions in Selangor like waterfalls, to ensure visitors comply with the SOPs,” he told the media after observing public compliance at Pantai Bagan Lalang here today.
Arjunaidi said he was satisfied with the public for observing SOPs today at the beach, which is a popular spot among visitors.
“If we look at the overall situation, it is true that many people are outdoors, but a majority of them came with their families and were gathered in groups with family members.
“We conclude that they came here and adhered to the SOPs like putting on masks, which we observed that most of them did after coming out of the water,” he said.
