PETALING JAYA:
The National Security Council (MKN) has not named any new areas to be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO). It is believed to be the first time in over a week that this has occurred.

However, the EMCO at four localities in Pahang, including three Orang Asli villages, will be extended until Oct 1.

In a statement, MKN director-general Rodzi Md Saad said the Orang Asli villages are located in Temerloh, namely Kampung Kuala Terbol, Kampung Pian and Kampung Lubok Wong.

He said the other locality in the state is the Penor Prison in Kuantan. The EMCO in these four areas was supposed to end tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Rodzi said the EMCO at several localities in Sabah, Kelantan and Pahang is set to end tomorrow as scheduled.

They are Taman Keramat and the Angkasa Apartment in Sabah, while the EMCO in Kampung Biau and Kampung Batang – villages in the Pos Biau Orang Asli settlement – in Gua Musang, Kelantan will also come to an end.

Over in Pahang, he said the EMCO will be lifted at Rumah Kongsi Pinggiran Goh in Kuantan and Sempalit in Mukim Gali, Raub.
