Allow corporate offices to operate, govt told

Malaysian Employers Federation president Syed Hussain Syed Husman says not allowing decision-makers to go to the office is causing huge losses to corporations.

PETALING JAYA:
The Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) wants the government to relax restrictions on corporate offices as this hinders overall business recovery.

MEF president Syed Hussain Syed Husman said it was perplexing that decision-makers of companies stayed at home while factories remained open because of the restrictions on operating corporate offices.

Syed Hussain said without the corporate office being operational, there would be problems in making strategic decisions.

“For example, all key decisions, including on finance and IT, are made at the headquarters,” he said.

He said corporate businesses were suffering huge losses due to the restrictions.

Syed Hussain proposed that the authorities allow fully vaccinated employees to come to the office as long as they adhere to the SOP.

The government has implemented a strict SOP on corporations, only allowing factories to open but requiring management to work from home.
