Seremban district police chief Mohd Said Ibrahim said they received the report on the discovery of the body at 10.38am.

“The call was made by a man who said he saw an object believed to be a dead baby floating in the sewage plant.

“Preliminary investigation found that it was the body of a baby, which was estimated to have died more than a day ago,” he said according to a report by Harian Metro.

He urged members of the public with information on the case to report to the district headquarters.

The case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealing the birth of a baby by secretly disposing of the body.
