31% of Malaysians fully vaccinated, says health minister

Health minister Dr Adham Baba said as of yesterday, the number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country totalled 26,851,765.

Yesterday, 462,860 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were administered with 162,182 being the first dose and 300,678 the second dose.
KUALA LUMPUR:
A total of 31.1% of the country’s population or 10,144,199  have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine as of yesterday, health minister Dr Adham Baba said today.

In an infographic post on his official Twitter account, he said 462,860 doses were administered yesterday, with 162,182 being the first dose and 300,678 the second dose.

“As of yesterday, the total number of first dose recipients stood at 16,707,566 while the cumulative number of doses given out, including for those fully vaccinated under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) was 26,851,765.”

In terms of percentage of adults alone, Adham said 71.4% have received the first dose, while 43.3% completed the second dose.

PICK was launched on Feb 24 to contain the pandemic, which hit the country early last year.
