Five areas in Sabah are affected, and the remaining four are in parts of Pahang.

In Tawau, Sabah, four housing areas in Semarak are affected — Taman Semarak Indah, Taman Semarak Jaya, Flat Sri Semarak and Taman Sejati.

Elsewhere in Sabah, two localities in Penampang — Kampung Koidupan and Kampung Guunsing-Novunsu —will be placed under EMCO.

Kampung Marau in Sipitang, Kampung Baru Kimanis in Papar, and Kampung Tanjong Kapor in Kudat are the other areas in the state that will see enhanced restrictions from Monday.

Nine areas previously under EMCO will see the tightened restrictions lifted on Aug 8.

Meanwhile, the SOP compliance task force ordered 112 premises to close yesterday for failing to comply with the rules.

Hishammuddin also said 282 people were arrested yesterday over MCO-related offences, with 261 issued compound fines and 21 remanded.

The authorities seized three vehicles as part of the ongoing Op Benteng campaign, but did not arrest any undocumented migrants.

On mandatory quarantine, Hishammuddin said 264,663 people who arrived through KLIA were screened for Covid-19 from July 24 last year to Aug 3 this year and were placed under quarantine.

A total of 3,852 tested positive and were sent to hospital for treatment, while 251,220 have been allowed to return home.
