Car crashes through barbed wire barricade in Sabah EMCO area

Man reverses vehicle as cops approach, then rams past roadblock.

KOTA KINABALU:
Police are looking for the driver of a car who rammed a barbed wire roadblock at Taman Teluk Likas, which is under an enhanced movement control order.

The incident, which occurred at about 11.30am on Wednesday, was recorded by the CCTV of a house nearby and made the rounds on social media.

City police chief Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the car had stopped at the roadblock and when the police approached it, the driver suddenly reversed and crashed into another vehicle.

The car then accelerated and crashed through the barricade and barbed wire before escaping towards Jalan Kuala Laut.

Zaidi said no one was hurt.

He urged those with information to contact the police.
