A spokesperson for Hartal Doktor Kontrak at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) said everyone had dispersed by 12.08pm, an hour after the walkout began.
“A few participants had their details taken down by the police,” said the junior doctor, who wished to remain anonymous.
The doctor added that no one from the hartal had been arrested so far.
Hartal Doktor Kontrak had given the government 26 days to resolve issues over the contract system or face a nationwide walkout, which took place at 11am today.
Among others, the strike is being held to demand a fair career path and for contract doctors to be offered the same benefits as medical officers in permanent positions.
It was previously reported that doctors at Hospital Serdang had been warned against taking part in the strike.
It was also reported by The Malaysian Insight that the Special Branch and federal reserve units would be deployed at the hospitals to monitor the situation and be on standby to arrest health workers who defied this order.
Meanwhile, Dang Wangi police chief Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said an investigation will be opened on the strike as no one was allowed to be involved in any gatherings during the movement control order.
Zainal said this included any religious, social, sporting and cultural gatherings.
