Deputy prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this was based on positive developments with the country’s vaccination rate.
Under Phase 1, he said office attendance in the public sector will be raised to 40% to increase productivity.
“Accounting services will also be allowed to operate with a 60% capacity,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, operation hours for daily markets and public markets will be extended from 6am to 4pm, subject to the local authorities and under the supervision of the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) or local authorities.
Cycling and individual physical activities that can be carried out with 2m-3m physical distance are also allowed within one’s neighbourhood.
Ports, airports and the logistics sector will be able to operate 24-hours now, said Ismail.
The operation of mines and quarries are also allowed with a capacity of up to 60% to meet the needs of “critical projects” that involve the repair and construction of roads.
Ismail added that outdoor filming can take place under strict SOPs in Phase 2.
Operating hours for business premises will be from 6am to 10pm, including petrol stations.
