He said the MPs should act with integrity and be brave in voicing their opinions, not staying silent for the sake of protecting their positions.
“Don’t be afraid of getting fired. Speak out for a transparent parliamentary session.
“Don’t be brave when you’re in the opposition, but act mute and deaf when you’re in power.
“Have differing opinions from your leader and party if they are legitimate,” he said in a Facebook post.

Puad also stressed that Umno wanted Parliament to reconvene in a way that was previously addressed by party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in his audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Yesterday, Seputeh MP Teresa Kok had described the special parliamentary sitting as a “ceramah”, which differed from the King’s call for Parliament to sit as soon as possible.
Kok said in her 21 years as a parliamentarian, MPs had always been allowed to debate, and asked whether the July 26 sitting would turn out to be a waste of time and resources.
Pejuang chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said his party would not attend the next sitting if debates and the party’s two motions were disallowed.
The former prime minister questioned the need for MPs to attend the sitting if it was only to hear an oral briefing from the government.
Pekan MP Najib Razak also said the special session should be a time for MPs to debate the National Recovery Plan and Emergency (Essential Powers) Ordinance 2021.
He criticised the special sitting, saying it would be like a classroom setting with “a teacher and students”.
