
Of that number, 253,830 people receive their first dose while 126,610 got their second dose.
According to data released by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF), this brings the total number of vaccinations to 14,002,324, with 9,570,974 persons having received the first dose and 4,431,350 now fully vaccinated.
Over the past week, Malaysia has been administering Covid-19 vaccine doses at record levels with more than 400,000 vaccinations daily.
With Covid-19 cases now hitting five digits, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has stressed that vaccinations needed to be ramped up to bring down the number of cases that could become more serious, thus helping to reduce congestion in hospitals.
Coordinating minister for the vaccine rollout Khairy Jamaluddin had said previously he planned to get 80% of the country’s adults vaccinated by the end of this year.
