Kelantan dropping Sinovac by the end of the month

State health director said the National Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force will only be supplying the Pfizer vaccine thereafter.

With Sinovac being replaced by Pfizer in the same quantity, there will be no shortage of supply, says the state health director Dr Zaini Hussin.
KOTA BHARU:
The Kelantan Health Department (JKNK) will stop distributing the Sinovac vaccine to all vaccination centres (PPV) in the state by the end of this month, its director Dr Zaini Hussin said today.

He added that beginning August, the supply of Sinovac vaccine would be replaced with the Pfizer vaccine in the same amount and as such there would be no issue of vaccine shortage in Kelantan.

The National Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) will only be supplying the Pfizer vaccine to Kelantan,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.

However, should CITF supply us again with Sinovac or any other type of Covid-19 vaccines, they would still be used.

Earlier, JKNK in a notice dated July 13 informed that the supply of Sinovac vaccine to Kelantan will be terminated at the end of July and will be replaced with the Pfizer vaccine.

Beginning July 18, all PPVs will only be supplied with the second dose of the Sinovac vaccine.
