PETALING JAYA:
Computer, telecommunication, stationery and book shops will be allowed to resume operations from tomorrow, deputy prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced today.

In a statement, he said these outlets would be allowed to operate throughout the National Recovery Plan.

He added that this decision was made in view of feedback from students, parents and teachers as online learning continues amid the surge in Covid-19 cases.

Ismail also said students will be allowed to leave or enter areas under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) to take their examinations, including professional exams.

Businesses selling and repairing computers and other information technology gadgets have not been allowed to operate since the lockdown on June 1, as they were not deemed essential.

This left operators confused and customers frustrated, with some complaining that they needed to get their devices repaired or replaced for work or studies.
