PETALING JAYA:
Netizens have raised complaints with Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, after the health director-general tweeted a list of Covid-19 assessment centres (CACs) in Selangor.

Noor Hisham had urged the public to not only gather at the Stadium Malawati CAC in Shah Alam.

This comes after reports of an estimated 4,000 infected patients who went to Stadium Malawati between 8am and noon yesterday.

“Please go to the nearest CAC in your respective areas to avoid congestion,” he said.

Netizens were quick to point out that they were not to blame for the large crowds at certain CACs.

Twitter user Athirah said the congestion at Stadium Malawati was due to the large population of Petaling.

She also questioned what had happened to the private clinics that were supposed to issue home surveillance orders.

“Mini CACs would help ease the crowd,” she said.

Another user, StreamFTLONY, said: “As big as Petaling is, there is only one CAC, and you wonder why so many people were there?”

One user, known as sarawakianscouser, said many had received notifications instructing them to go to the only CAC in Shah Alam.

“Don’t blame the people. It’s the local district health office which assigned them to go there,” they said.

Meanwhile, Moon pointed out that inter-district travel was still not allowed, which meant the public could not travel to other CACs beyond their own locality.

“Set up more CACs for congested areas.”
