In a tweet, he said the loosening of rules could take place after a certain number of the capital city’s citizens have been vaccinated.

“If that happens, it’s not impossible that only those who have been fully vaccinated will be free to carry out their activities, while those who have not will have their movements restricted,” said the Ketereh MP.

According to Annuar, over 1.8 million people have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

Although the figures showed that 103.7% of those aged 18 and over have received one dose, he noted that this included residents from other states, and that some Kuala Lumpur citizens had still not received their jabs.

“These people are urged to get vaccinated immediately,” he said.

Earlier today, Annuar was fined for visiting former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in the city on Saturday.

His ministry said he would pay the fine as soon as possible, but did not state the amount of the compound. However, Dang Wangi police chief Mohammad Zainal Abdullah said Annuar was fined RM2,000.

In a now-deleted Twitter post, Annuar said he and his wife spent two hours having lunch with Abdullah.

Visiting is not allowed under the current SOPs in parts of Kuala Lumpur that are under the EMCO.
