3 foreigners held after fight at workers’ hostel

A Sri Lankan man was injured and admitted to hospital.

Police have arrested three foreign nationals for investigations into a viralled video showing a fight at a workers’ hostel of a factory in Sri Gading here.

Batu Pahat deputy police chief Muhamad Izzudin Rungai said the three men, comprising two Bangladeshis and a Sri Lankan, aged 23 to 33, were arrested after police received a report on the video yesterday.

A Sri Lankan man was injured on the head and reported to be in stable condition at the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital, he said in a statement today.

Izzudin said a team has been set up to investigate the case under Section 148 of the Penal Code for possessing weapons or missiles during a riot.
