KUALA LUMPUR:
The Bukit Jalil National Stadium vaccination centre (PPV) is expected to start operations from Monday with a capacity to administer up to 10,000 doses a day, said youth and sports minister Reezal Merican Naina Merican.

He said the large-scale PPV would enable more members of the public, especially those residing in the Klang Valley and aged 40 and below, to get vaccinated.

“The entire stadium has been transformed into a vaccination centre, in line with the national recovery plan announced by the prime minister,” he said on Facebook last night.

“This is part of the ministry’s efforts to ensure the national Covid-19 immunisation initiative led by Khairy Jamaluddin and the science, technology and innovation ministry and the health ministry through optimal use of facilities, is a success.”

Reezal Merican said in the initial stage, 60 MYVAC volunteers in his ministry will be assigned at the stadium, and the number will be increased as needed.

He called on the public to immediately register for the vaccination and always check the status of their appointments on their MySejahtera application.

He also said the Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil facility had started operating as a PPV since June 7.
