PETALING JAYA:
Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) recently announced the MARii Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform to propel the local automotive industry forward, the institute’s chief executive officer Madani Sahari said today.

Businesses within the automotive sector must optimise their production to meet the ever-changing needs of the global markets, seen through the voice of their clients’ demands.

As such, they must build Lean Production Systems (LPS), world-class quality systems and Industry 4.0 (IR 4.0) compliant processes within their operations to compete effectively.

“As one of the industries that demand the management of a large number of components, manpower, complex financial structures and production workflows, the MARii ERP system serves to reduce burdens and complexity of such management through a one-stop cloud solution.

“The holistic nature of this platform enables seamless integration through a singular solution to monitor and analyse company-wide operations in real-time, allowing business owners to continuously improve their product offerings, functionality and competitiveness,” he said.

He added that the platform is designed for all business sizes to cater to the various functions of the company, and is designed around the best practices of various industries, such as automotive, manufacturing, engineering, retail, and many more.

This means that MARii ERP not only automates various functions within the business operation, but facilitates the application of industry best practices in companies that need data-driven decision-making and management in order to compete in the digital economy.

“The MARii ERP system is designed to be at the heart of the environment of data-driven business operations and works hand in hand with the various programmes developed by MARii to assist automotive and mobility businesses in future-proofing their market positions through digitalisation.

“As automotive and mobility-related components increase in complexity in the future, MARii believes that the MARii ERP system becomes an important offering for all levels of businesses to assist them in digitalising their entire operations,” he said.

The MARii ERP system, developed by the institute, can automate the manual administration process through digitalisation of record-keeping, centralisation of information, and consolidating sales orders until delivery in a system that can be accessed and used by various company operations.

Madani said the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in disruption to the economy, especially when the country has to choose between lives and livelihoods while managing the pandemic.

“Although some operations need to be done on business premises, many SMEs have difficulty performing work from home due to lack of resources in digitalising operations that should be able to be done online.

“The MARii ERP system creates a data-based business operating environment and most importantly, is not constrained by location and movement control as long as there is a connection to the internet, in line with the government’s efforts towards business digitalisation,” he said.
