This comes following the statement by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah asking for Parliament to reconvene as soon as possible.
“It is very clear that the prime minister needs to heed the decree and advise of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the reconvening of Parliament as soon as possible,” a statement by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said this morning.
“If the prime minister continues to delay or give reasons to prolong the suspension of Parliament, it does not only mean that he refuses to heed the call, but it also gives the impression that he has lost confidence to govern.
”And if the prime minister still refuses to advise Tuanku immediately, he should take the honourable action by resigning.”
The PH leaders said it was important to reconvene Parliament as soon as possible for check and balance and to ensure good governance.
They said that with the resumption of Parliament, the Emergency Ordinances, the national recovery plan and the allocation to help the people can be discussed.
