
Johor police chief Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said a total of 4,423 compounds have been issued since the lockdown was announced.
Ayob Khan said the districts of Johor Bahru Selatan, Iskandar Puteri and Segamat were among the areas which saw the most number of compounds being issued during this period.
The offences included failing to wear face masks, failing to observe physical distancing, carrying too many passengers inside a car and failing to register personal details and temperature prior to entering premises.
In a statement today, Ayob Khan added that the number of inter-district travel applications received in the first two days of the total lockdown was 3,384, out of which 3,296 applications were approved and 88 rejected.
He also said that 235 vehicles were ordered to turn back at police roadblocks.
“During this lockdown, 470 SOP teams were set up and mobilised, involving 1,598 police officers.
“For the first two days of the total lockdown, a total of 17,512 premises were checked throughout the state of Johor to ensure compliance with SOPs in accordance with the guidelines set,” he said.
Ayob Khan reiterated the need for all communities to follow the SOPs in order to help curb the spread of Covid-19.
