
The state’s Covid-19 spokesman Masidi Manjun said the new rule would be effective from tomorrow.
Yesterday, Masidi, who is state minister for local government and housing, had said that restaurants, including those in hotels, could stay open until 10pm while shops and stall were to close at 9pm.
“This uniformity is made to facilitate monitoring and enforcement of all restaurants, shops and food stalls,” he said today.
“Other businesses such as laundromats, barber shops and hair salons, spa services, reflexology, and car wash centres are allowed until 9pm as announced yesterday,” he said.
184 new Covid-19 infections
Masidi said 184 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Sabah today, with Tawau recording the highest number at 37 cases followed by Kalabakan (35), Kota Kinabalu (25) and Papar (23).
He said the other districts that recorded new cases were in Lahad Datu with 16 cases, Kunak (11), Penampang (11), Putatan (7), Sandakan (4), Semporna (4), Kuala Penyu (4), Tenom. (4), Tuaran (2) and Beaufort (1).
“Meanwhile, 13 districts did not record any cases today, namely Beluran, Telupid, Tongod, Kinabatangan, Kudat, Pitas, Kota Marudu, Kota Belud, Ranau, Sipitang, Nabawan, Keningau and Tambunan.
“Of the 184 Covid-19 positive cases, 68 cases or 37% were due to close contact screening, 23 cases (12.5%) symptomatic screening, 70 cases (38%) from new and existing clusters and 23 cases (12.5%) from other categories, ” he said.
Two new clusters were also recorded at Taman Deluxe and Kampung Padawan.
