In a statement, Covax said that, up to today, Malaysia has received a total of 828,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines.
Last month, 268,800 doses were shipped into the country. Malaysia is expected to receive a total of 1.38 million doses of the vaccine.
The government will open bookings for the AstraZeneca vaccine from Sunday for those aged 60 and above.
It will be made available to those living in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sarawak and Johor – states with a high number of Covid-19 cases.
Earlier this month, appointments for members of the public interested in taking up the first 268,800 doses of the vaccine were fully booked within a few hours.
Those who took the vaccine will take their second shot 12 weeks after their first.
