PETALING JAYA:
Close contacts of Covid-19 patients and persons under investigation (PUI) have been told to remain at home and reschedule their vaccination appointments.

Coordinating minister in charge of the vaccination programme Khairy Jamaluddin said the authorities had found several close contacts at vaccination centres.

“Don’t come. We can reschedule the appointment. Don’t come as there is a risk of infecting others,” he said in a video posted on the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) Twitter account.

Khairy added that close contacts should remain at home and avoid going out.

Some social media users however said the MySejahtera application did not allow them to cancel their appointments while the hotline number was always busy. Others said they were unclear over the process to reschedule appointments.

One close contact FMT spoke to said she was asked to cancel her vaccination appointment on Monday after informing the authorities that she was a close contact.

“I was also told I couldn’t reschedule my appointment because all the other slots are full.

“So I’d have to either wait for my turn in the Covid-19 vaccination programme or sign up for the second round of the AstraZeneca programme.”

FMT is attempting to reach Khairy for further comment.
